Estimate production capacity, annual costs, operating profit and payback for a white button mushroom growing room. Change every assumption to match your project.
Start with the suggested planning values, then replace them with your own.
Your room dimensions determine usable shelf area. From there, the calculator estimates compost, harvest, production costs, asset investment and payback.
Room width determines one or two shelving banks after wall clearances and working access are reserved.
Banks × width × length × levelsShelf area determines compost loading. Compost tons are then multiplied by the selected local or imported yield rate.
Compost × yield × saleable %Annual revenue is reduced by every cycle cost. Asset CAPEX is compared with operating profit to estimate simple payback.

Practical answers based on the assumptions used in Mycotech's Lebanon-focused planning calculator.
Profitability depends on room utilization, compost performance, selling price and verified operating costs. This calculator estimates annual revenue, production cost, operating profit and simple payback using editable Lebanon-focused assumptions.
The planning defaults use 90 kg of local compost or 85 kg of imported compost per square metre of productive shelf area. The calculator multiplies the selected rate by the shelving area.
Gross harvest is estimated from compost tons multiplied by the yield rate. The defaults are 250 kg of mushrooms per ton of local compost and 300 kg per ton of imported compost, followed by an editable saleable-harvest percentage.
The estimate includes compost, casing soil, electricity, labour, packaging, disinfectants, transport and an editable allowance for water, maintenance, waste handling, administration and other costs.
The asset estimate combines the climate system, heating and cooling assets, and shelving estimated at $25 per square metre of productive shelf area. First-cycle production costs are excluded.
No. The result is an early planning estimate. Room design, climate loads, contamination risk, supplier quotations, financing and customer demand must be verified before investment.
